Ingredients
1Poundhalibut filets (sliced 1/2 inch thick!!!)
2Tablespoonolive oil
1 1⁄2Tablespoongarlic powder
1 1⁄2Tablespoononion powder
1Teaspoonsalt
1Teaspooncayenne pepper (more for adventure club members)
2Teaspoonthyme (or marjoram)
2Teaspoonoregano
2Teaspoonpaprika
Instructions

Place halibut in  a bowl with the 2 T olive oil and let stand 30 min. Combine spices in a 9 inch pie plate.  Heat cast iron skillet upside down over high heat 5-10 minutes or until very hot. (disable smoke alarms).  Using a hot pad, turn pan right side up.  Remove halibut from olive oil and drain.  Dip fillets into seasonings and coat each side evenly. Put fillets into hot skillet and cook 2-3 minutes per side, turning only once.  Reconnect smoke detectors.  Top with wasabi or chimichurri sauce.
